Our Adult Cognitive Assessment helps individuals gain a deeper understanding of their intellectual abilities, thinking skills, and daily functioning. What to expect
what the adult assessment includes

assessment appointment
The assessment is conducted using the following tools: WAIS-IV* (provides an estimate of general intellectual functioning - IQ score), Vineland (evaluates daily living skills and adaptive behaviour), and WHODAS 2.0 (assesses overall health and disability). When used together, these tools offer a thorough understanding of cognitive and daily functioning, supporting the diagnosis of intellectual disabilities if needed.

feedback
session
Following the assessment, and once the detailed report has been completed - approximately one month post-assessment - a 50 minute feedback session will be scheduled. This session can be attended in-person or via telehealth and the focus will be on discussing the results of the assessment and the recommendations made within the cognitive assessment reoprt, with time for questions.

assessment report + recommendations
At your feedback session, you will be given a copy of your assessment report. This comprehensive report will give you a better understanding of your / an individual's intellectual and cognitive abilities. It includes information about the results of the assessment, including the IQ score, and features personalised recommendations for future support.
*The Intelligence Quotient (IQ) test, primarily conducted using the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS-IV), is designed to measure the intellectual functioning of individuals aged 16-90 years. This standardised test provides a comprehensive overview of an individual’s cognitive abilities, including strengths and potential challenges and an IQ score.

Our Child Cognitive/IQ Assessment provides you with insight in cognitive and intellectual abilities. Additionally, it provides valuable insights into any behavioural or emotional concerns your child may be experiencing. Please note that this assessment does not assess for Dyslexia or Dysgraphia.
This service is suitable for children aged 6 to 17 years. It evaluates their development in key areas, including:

The child cognitive assessment includes the following steps and takes approximately 5.5 hours - spread across 4 sessions - to complete. You will also receive a comprehensive assessment report that details your child's assessment results, with personalised recommendations to help them thrive.

This assessment is conducted with the WISC-V assessment tool - a standardised test to measure your child's intelligence.

The academic skills assessment is completed using the WIAT-IV - a standardised test to evaluate your child's academic abilities.

Using your child's assessment results, tailored learning recommendations - to help them thrive - will be provided in the assessment report.

Held in-person or via telehealth, this session gives you an opportunity to discuss your child's results, the assessment report, and potential next steps.
