Skills-based behaviour therapy

about the service

Our short-term skills-based behaviour-based therapy programs provides outcome-focused support for children and teens (ages 6 - 18) to build real-world skills for day-to-day challenges.

These programs are not:

  • Psychology or Counselling 

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Positive Behaviour Support or Behaviour Support Plans

These programs are:

  • Evidence-based

  • Practical

  • Skills-focused 

  • Flexible

  • Action-oriented

  • Parent / caregiver educative

  • Designed to support accelerated skill acquisition and emotional wellbeing

  • Delivered by appropriately qualified practitioners with relevant training and supervision

Our programs may be suitable for your child if:

  • They are aged between 6 - 18 years of age age

  • They have Improved Daily Living (IDL) funding in their NDIS plan and

  • Their needs are skill-based, and

  • Families are wanting to focus on practical change without requiring full assessments or behaviour support plans* and / or

  • If long wait times for other therapies apply.

We deliver our skills-based behaviour therapy programs at home, school (if permitted), in community and, if participants are based in Adelaide, in our Parkside and Salisbury practices.
