'Better Outcomes for Chronic Conditions'

Things to know about Group Therapy

  • Participants are often surprised as to how powerful and rewarding group therapy can be. Members of the group can assist in coming up with ideas for improving a difficult situation, whilst putting their own problems into perspective. Participants can increase understanding of dealing with their condition and improve acceptance of self.

  • Group Therapy Sessions usually comprise between 6- 10 participants and are delivered by a registered psychologist

  • In order to better support the Return to Work Process, (subject to individual consent) a week by week outline of session components,  key learnings and any behavioural strategies will be fed back to the Case Manager/RTW Consultant, facilitating purposeful discussion in  between sessions for better reinforcement and consolidation of the therapy.

  • In support of our commitment to behaviour change and symptomology reduction, participants will complete a brief depression/anxiety scale upon commencement and conclusion of the therapy, thereby ensuring our program remains solution focused and upholds best practice psychology.

  • Program components cover adjusting to change, education about complex conditions, motivation, stopping self sabotaging behaviours, planning for the future
